Ali Hakim Javadi, head of the country's Computer Trade Union Organization, said in an interview with ILNA's reporter:  The recent increase in the tariffs of internet and communications services in no way meets the current needs of this industry and does not cover the existing costs.

He added: The operators' earlier request for a 100 percent increase in tariffs seemed a more realistic figure for maintaining the communications network at a standard and stable level.

Hakim Javadi emphasized: A proportionate price correction was an unavoidable necessity, so that part of the accumulated backwardness in this infrastructure industry would be compensated.

He said: It would have been better, now that after a long time a decision has been taken to correct the rates, for a fundamental and real review to have been carried out to solve the infrastructure challenges.
