According to Mehr News Agency, the Comprehensive Trade System announced in a notice that the list of authorized currency supply sources for the tariff codes related to the Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade has been updated and applied in the order registration process. Accordingly, before registering an order, importers must check the currency priority of their desired goods in the announced list, and when registering the order use only the currency supply sources authorized for that same priority.

Under the announced rules, the authorized currency supply sources for the four currency priorities are as follows:

Currency priority one: purchasing currency from the banking system, from others' exports, from one's own exports, from others' currency and from one's own currency is permitted.

Currency priority two: currency can be supplied from others' exports, one's own exports, others' currency and one's own currency; however, purchasing currency from the banking system is not on the list of authorized sources for this priority.

Currency priority three: importers can use their own exports, others' currency and their own currency to supply currency.

Currency priority four: only the use of others' currency and one's own currency has been declared authorized.

Order registration for some tariff codes without an authorized currency supply source

The notice stresses that some tariff codes have no currency priority. For these tariff codes, none of the announced currency supply sources is authorized, and order registration using these methods will not be possible.

If authorized currency supply sources for these tariff codes are announced by the Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade, the new rules will be announced subsequently.

These regulations apply only to order registrations for which the Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade is the currency licensing organization, and the other current order-registration rules and regulations remain in force.

It is worth noting that of the total 8,151 tariff lines listed, 3,592 lines are in priority zero, 66 lines in priority one, 1,677 lines in priority two, 1,066 lines in priority three and 1,750 lines in priority four.
