According to Mehr News Agency, Nourallah Farzipour, at the meeting reviewing the province's educational programs, outlining the priority axes of the secondary-education level, stated: Achieving educational goals requires continuous monitoring of schools' performance, improving the teaching and learning processes, and a balanced distribution of students among the fields of study.
Achievement of academic-guidance goals less than the projected program
Pointing to the state of academic guidance and the distribution of fields in the province, he added: The rate of achievement of Lorestan's target-setting in this area, contrary to expectations, has been about four percentage points less than the target set in the last academic year — an issue that shows the necessity of reviewing the academic-guidance process and the balanced distribution of students among the various fields.
Emphasis on making grades realistic and continuous assessment of students
The deputy for secondary education of Lorestan's Department of Education regarded making students' continuous grades realistic as one of the important programs of this level and said: Grades must be expressive of the students' real performance, the quality of teaching and the extent of their participation in the classroom.
Farzipour, emphasizing the necessity of a precise assessment of the educational process, deemed it necessary to continuously monitor grades in the relevant systems and record the feedback of educational visits, and stressed the issuance of students' monthly report cards in the first three months of the academic year.
Strengthening remedial classes to improve academic performance
He cited analyzing the results of the initial tests and identifying students' weak points as effective solutions for elevating the quality of education and added: Holding reinforcement classes in subjects such as mathematics, science and language can help remove learning difficulties and improve students' academic performance.
The deputy for secondary education of Lorestan's Department of Education also stressed strengthening the activity of educational groups, empowering teachers and reducing the lost time of classes, and regarded these measures as effective in improving the quality of the teaching and learning process.
Organizing the surplus equipment and property of the vocational schools
Farzipour, pointing to the importance of the vocational schools in developing skills training, stressed organizing the surplus equipment and property of these centers.
He noted: The income from the sale of surplus property must be spent on that same vocational school, so that the resources obtained are used in the path of removing the needs and strengthening the educational and skills facilities of these centers.
Determining the status of students who have not registered
The deputy for secondary education of Lorestan's Department of Education, in another part of his remarks, deemed it necessary to determine the status of students who have not registered and stressed that schools should pursue this matter.
He also called for registering the educational-exemption requests of the students subject to it who have reached 18 years of age before the statistics registers are closed, and stressed the necessity of timely administrative action to prevent problems arising in the educational status of these students.
