According to KhabarOnline from Lorestan, Dariush Barani-Beyranvand, mayor of Khorramabad, today at the session of the Jihad-e Tabyin Headquarters held in the meeting hall of Khorramabad Municipality, pointing to the country's conditions and the importance of social resilience, stated: Iran's confrontation with America and its allies has in a way turned into a resilience contest, and whichever side can better manage the conditions in the political, military, social and especially economic arenas will be more successful in this field.
Stressing the importance of economic issues, he added: Economic war has since the past been one of the main arenas of confrontation, and today we can better understand the importance of naming the years with an economic focus by the Supreme Leader of the Revolution. Alongside military capability, the country's most important capacity is the social capacity and the nation's cohesion.
Barani-Beyranvand continued: Iranian society has in many fields, including the social and cultural spheres, upgraded its capacities and displayed an experience of resilience before the eyes of the world's nations and countries.
Stressing the necessity of elucidating this social capacity, he said: If the political, social and cultural guides of society focus for months and years on the subject of the Iranian nation's resilience in the face of problems, they can elucidate an important part of the realities of society for the people; of course, this resilience has numerous causes and roots that must be examined precisely.
The mayor of Khorramabad, pointing to the discussions raised about negotiation, peace and diplomacy, stated: There is a fundamental principle in international relations, and that is that the hand of negotiation comes out of the sleeve of authority. In relations of power, the weak side usually faces pressure, humiliation and even the loss of its assets; therefore, the country must pass through this stage with authority.
Referring to recent military developments, he added: We must pass through this stage with authority and correctly elucidate the country's capacities for society. In relations among the great powers as well, political, economic and military competition flows at a level where the parties, despite serious differences, are aware of the consequences of tension.
Barani-Beyranvand, pointing to the change in the level of Iran's confrontation with regional threats, stated: There was a time when some regional countries took a threatening stance toward Iran and the issue of the three islands was raised, but today conditions have changed and Iran is in a different position.
Pointing to the importance of elucidating recent military developments, he said: During this war, America's military bases and equipment in the region were targeted and events occurred that showed a different level of military confrontation. These developments must be correctly elucidated for society so that the people gain a more precise understanding of the country's conditions and capacities.
The mayor of Khorramabad, referring to statements by some foreign officials about America's difficulties in managing and ending the war, added: Elucidating the realities of this confrontation and what happened on the field can be a subject for continuous dialogues in the coming months and years.
He stressed: We must talk about the factors creating this national unity and cohesion and know the roots of Iranian society's solidarity, since this very cohesion is one of the country's important capacities in facing threats and crises.
The mayor of Khorramabad, in another part of his remarks, pointed to the actions of urban management and stated: The urban management complex of Khorramabad is pursuing numerous plans in the field of development and infrastructure projects, and the volume of the city's development projects has doubled compared to before the war.
He added: Grade-separated intersections, bridges, ring roads, bypasses, the regeneration of the city's central zone, the development of green space and the organization of the city's entrances are part of the projects on urban management's agenda.
Barani-Beyranvand, pointing to the physical progress of the projects, said: Many of these plans have passed more than 90 percent physical progress, and we are trying to put a major part of them into operation before Eid.
The mayor of Khorramabad, pointing to the necessity of the urban management complex's readiness to face crisis conditions, stated: Municipalities had remarkable performance in past wars and crises, and Khorramabad Municipality, too, using past experiences, has maintained its readiness to provide services in special conditions.
