Development of Student Beach Sports with the Aim of Identifying Athletic Talents

According to Mehr News Agency, citing the Ministry of Education, the opening ceremony of the student beach sports olympiad for girls and boys of the first secondary level in the disciplines of beach football and beach volleyball was held with the presence of Mohammad Jafari, deputy for physical education and health of the Ministry of Education, and Manouchehr Ziaei, director general of education of Hormozgan Province.

Jafari, at this ceremony, appreciating the interaction and cooperation of the education complex and the General Department of Sports and Youth of Hormozgan Province, stated: Making use of the existing capacities in the provinces to elevate student sports is among the important programs of the Ministry of Education, and the cooperation of the related bodies can provide the ground for increasing student participation in sports activities.

Referring to the implementation of the "Dynamic Field" plan, he added: This program is followed with the aim of increasing the participation of students and parents in sports activities and strengthening health, social vitality and family interaction, and in Hormozgan Province too, programs have been held with the participation of students, families and physical education teachers.

The deputy for physical education and health of the Ministry of Education considered intra-school and inter-school sports olympiads among the important programs of this ministry for promoting the culture of sport, developing physical activities and identifying students' athletic talents.

Jafari, referring to the start of the beach sports olympiad in the disciplines of beach football and beach volleyball in Hormozgan, stated: Holding this event provides a suitable opportunity to identify students' sporting capacities and introduce the top talents to sports federations.

Emphasizing the necessity of purposeful talent identification in schools, he noted: The path of nurturing athletic talents must begin from school and continue with support and planning at the regional, provincial and national levels, so that the ground is also provided for talented students to be present in international competitions.

The deputy minister of education, referring to the programs of the Student Sports Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in international arenas, expressed hope that with the development of such events and the cooperation of the specialized federations, student talents will flourish more than before and the country's students will win honors in international arenas.

The start of the student beach sports olympiad in Hormozgan is a step in line with making use of the coastal capacities of this province, developing school sports and providing more opportunities for student girls and boys to participate in organized sports activities.
