A member of the City Council says that Zakani is on the verge of impeachment.
According to Entekhab, Mohammad Akhoundi, a member of the Tehran City Council, wrote on the social network X: "Noble people of Tehran, Tajrish, and Ray, know that a few individuals in the City Council, because their preferred candidate did not become mayor, have been putting obstacles in the mayor's path from day one, and these days they are seeking to impeach Zakani."
He added: "Contrary to the Supreme Leader's directives, they have become agents of division, discord, and exploitation by the enemy. We will soon expose them."
