According to Mehr News Agency, citing Russia Today, Yuri Ushakov, aide to the President of Russia, announced today, Sunday: Preparations and organization for a forthcoming meeting between Putin, Trump and Xi Jinping, on the sidelines of the APEC summit, have begun. For now, no agreement has been reached on a bilateral meeting between Putin and Trump on the sidelines of the APEC summit, but such large international summits provide ample opportunities for communication.

The aide to the Russian President then continued: Putin's attendance at the G20 summit in Miami, USA, depends on the outcome of the APEC summit in Shenzhen, China. The overall political atmosphere in the United States toward Russia is very unfavorable; nevertheless, the Trump administration understands that engagement with Russia is better than turning away from such engagement.

Yuri Ushakov added: Europe's interference in the conflict and European countries' efforts to support Kyiv are a key issue in resolving the Ukraine crisis. After the Anchorage summit, Moscow had the impression that Washington could compel Kyiv to implement the relevant conditions for a peaceful settlement of the Ukraine crisis. A possible Russia-Ukraine peace agreement still needs more work; Russia is ready to resume trilateral negotiations to settle the Ukraine crisis after November 4.
