The commander of the Protection Unit of the Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Department of East Azerbaijan announced the discovery of an unauthorized excavation in the village of Meqyas, Kaleybar, saying the diggers had sunk a well about five meters deep inside a residential house and dug a three-meter tunnel beneath the alley in search of historical relics and artifacts.
