According to “Varzesh3”, the South Korean Volleyball Cup competitions began last week with the participation of seven teams and concluded today with the holding of the final match.
The Incheon KAL Jumbos team, by defeating Cheonan Hyundai Capital three sets to one, with set scores of 26-24, 21-25, 25-23 and 25-21, claimed the championship title of the South Korean Volleyball Cup for itself.
This is the second consecutive year that Incheon KAL Jumbos has reached the championship of these competitions; a success that made this team the most honored club in the history of the South Korean Volleyball Cup.
The special attraction of the final, besides the two teams' competition on the court, related to the confrontation of two well-known head coaches on the benches; where Renan Dal Zotto, the former head coach of Brazil's national volleyball team, was in charge of Incheon KAL Jumbos, and on the opposing side, the Frenchman Philippe Blain, the former head coach of Iran's national volleyball team, sat on the bench of Cheonan Hyundai Capital. In the end, this coaching duel finished with Dal Zotto's victory.
It is worth noting that two Iranian players were also present at the South Korean Volleyball Cup. Matin Ahmadi reached the semi-final stage with the Seoul Woori Card team, but the OKMan team, with the presence of Mehran Feyz Imamdoost, could not advance from the group stage.
