According to "Varzesh 3", Barcelona club had planned to travel to London on Monday with a large delegation to attend the Ballon d'Or ceremony. The team's flight departed at 13:45 from the private terminal of El Prat Airport.
Lamine Yamal, Rodri Hernandez, and Joan Garcia were the three men's team players whose names were on the club's passenger list until yesterday, provided that no changes occurred at the last minute. This ceremony, celebrating its 70th edition, is being held outside of Paris for the first time, at the London Palladium.
Lamine Yamal is a nominee for the Ballon d'Or and the Kopa Trophy, which he could win for the third consecutive year following 2024 and 2025. Rodri, who won the 2024 Ballon d'Or, was selected as the best player of the World Cup and joined Barca from Manchester City this summer, is once again among the 30 final nominees. Joan Garcia, who won the Zamora Trophy in his first season as a Blaugrana player, has been nominated for the Yashin Trophy as the best goalkeeper of the year for the first time.
Pau Cubarsi's name is not seen in the announced list; the player who is also a nominee for the Ballon d'Or and Kopa trophies. The Catalan defender well knows that he will not win either of these two awards. The name of the winner of the first award remains a secret, while the Kopa Trophy will go to his teammate and close friend. Aware of this, the Blaugrana player has prioritized rest following the very intense start of the season.
Strong Women's Representation
The representation of the Barcelona women's team will be even wider. Pere Romeu, the team's head coach and a nominee for the best coach of the year award, will travel along with six Barca female players who are Ballon d'Or nominees: Patri Guijarro, Caroline Graham Hansen, Ewa Pajor, Claudia Pina, Esmee Brugts, and Cata Coll. The latter is also competing for the best goalkeeper award. Vicky Lopez and Clara Serrajordi, who are nominated for the best young player award, complete this delegation. Furthermore, the Barcelona women's team is nominated for the best club of the year award after winning four trophies in the 2025-26 season including the League, Copa de la Reina, Supercopa, and Champions League.
Management Board Led by Laporta
The institutional delegation of the club will be chaired by Joan Laporta. Rafa Yuste, Xavi Puig, Elena Fort, and Xavi Barbanyol will accompany him on this trip. This is the composition prepared by the club for this journey.
