The political deputy of the Ministry of Interior said: The possibility of using traditional ballots, if problems arise in the infrastructure for holding elections, is on the agenda.
Ali Zeinivand, the political deputy and spokesman of the Ministry of Interior, in an interview with Mehr's reporter regarding the use of electronic ballot boxes for elections, stated: About 120 to 130 thousand electronic boxes have been planned, while we have only about 65 thousand polling stations, and this number of electronic boxes will well meet the country's need for city and village council elections, and it can even be said to be more than the country's need; that is, in fact, the boxes that have been designed, in addition to being sufficient in quantity, are also in surplus of the need.
Regarding the necessary training of personnel for the use and operation of these boxes, he added: All the necessary support for training the personnel has been arranged, and this was based on a need that had been designed beforehand.
The political deputy of the Ministry of Interior, in response to another question from Mehr's reporter regarding solutions to confront the possibility of cyberattacks on the electronic boxes, emphasized: This issue, after all, relates to the country's infrastructure, but we have made sufficient preparation and necessary design for various scenarios in the elections, and if, God forbid, for example our infrastructure also faces a problem, the subject of using ballots and traditional elections is on the agenda.
