According to the IRIB News Agency, Alborz Center , Hojjatoleslam Mohammad Jaber Ansari, on the live program 'Today Alborz' of the provincial IRIB, coinciding with the anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, criticized the performance of this body in facing international crises and stated: It is expected that the United Nations plays an effective role in preventing wars, confronting aggression and protecting the rights of nations; but its performance in some crises has raised doubts about the effectiveness and independence of this body.

Referring to the developments in Gaza and the human consequences of the war for people, especially women and children, he added: The Security Council's inability to take effective measures proportionate to the scale of this crisis highlights the need to review the decision-making mechanisms and the way international responsibilities are carried out.

This political affairs expert considered the special privileges of the permanent members of the Security Council among the thought-provoking issues in the UN structure and said: When decision-making power is not distributed equally among countries, the realization of justice in international relations also faces limitations.

Ansari went on, referring to the issue of nuclear weapons and the US atomic attacks on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, to state: The differing approach of the nuclear powers toward other countries raises questions about the criteria governing global policies and how nuclear issues are dealt with.

He emphasized: Presence in the United Nations does not mean unconditional acceptance of its structure or performance; rather, the Islamic Republic of Iran can use the capacities of this body to present its positions, defend the rights of the Iranian nation and convey its views to the international community.

This political affairs expert also criticized the dual use of concepts such as human rights and colonialism in international politics and stated: The evaluation of governments and global bodies must be based on their practical performance, not merely on slogans and declared positions. The historical experience of colonized nations also shows that some policies, contrary to initial claims, led to exploitation and plundering of resources.

In conclusion, Ansari considered effective support for civilians, confronting violence and discrimination, and defending the rights of nations as important criteria for evaluating the performance of international bodies, and said: Alongside expressing its criticisms, Iran can use its presence in the United Nations to pursue its national interests and explain the views of the Islamic Republic at the global level.
