The head of the parliament's Article 90 Commission, in today's public session (Sunday, October 25), criticized in a formal remark the cabinet's resolution on how construction permits are issued in Tehran and Alborz.
According to the Mehr reporter, Hojjatoleslam Nasrallah Pezhmanfar, head of the Article 90 Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, in today's public session (Sunday, October 25) criticized in a formal remark the cabinet's resolution on how construction permits are issued in Tehran and Alborz.
Referring to the three-year halt in issuing construction permits in these regions based on the said resolution, he stated: “Implementing this decision will lead to a sharp increase in housing prices, unbridled expensiveness and the deprivation of weak and low-income strata from living in Tehran; therefore, such an action is illegal and illogical.”
The head of the parliament's Article 90 Commission, criticizing the basis on which these decisions are adopted, said: “It is not clear on what basis and with what logic these resolutions are approved, without the necessary consultations being held.”
Pezhmanfar added: “This resolution is inconsistent with Article 31 of the Constitution, the subject of childbearing and the Seventh Development Plan law.”
He asked the Review Board to reject this resolution and prevent its implementation, and emphasized: “Implementing such a decision, which is contrary to the Constitution, will be to the detriment of the country, the city of Tehran and the low-income strata of society.”
