According to ILNA, citing Reuters, Barack Obama on Saturday took to the field at campaign rallies in Cleveland and Detroit in support of Democratic candidates. In Michigan, supporting Abdul Sayed, a candidate in the Senate election, he described the November 3 election as an opportunity to rein in Donald Trump's actions and said: 'We must activate this process and hold the administration accountable for its actions.'

Obama, who remains one of the Democrats' popular figures, hopes his presence will help mobilize the party's supporters in the tight Senate race; a contest in which Abdul Sayed is competing against Mike Rogers, the Republican candidate and former member of the House of Representatives.

The former US president, criticizing Trump and the Republicans' alignment with him, said: 'We have never seen a president who so blatantly defrauds you, to your detriment.' He added that the Republican Party now appears to represent a corrupt, ineffective, or even incapable-of-governing administration.

Obama also mocked the Trump administration's claims of victory over Iran and said the war, by increasing concerns about Iran's threat to attack ships in the Strait of Hormuz, has given Tehran more economic leverage. Referring to the importance of this waterway in the transport of the world's oil, he said: 'Iran now holds a veto over the Strait of Hormuz.'

He went on to accuse Pete Hegseth, the US Secretary of War, of focusing excessively on topics such as jaw shape and soldiers' testosterone levels, and also mocked the White House renovations; measures which, according to him, have made the White House look like a branch of the 'Cheesecake Factory' restaurant designed by Saddam Hussein.

Based on a joint Reuters and Ipsos poll in August, 63 percent of Americans believe Trump and his family have unjustifiably profited from cryptocurrencies since his return to the White House, and 69 percent have said his political decisions are influenced by his personal business dealings.
