Mehrdad Lahouti, the representative of the people of Langarud in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, in a conversation with the correspondent of KhabarOnline Gilan, referring to the latest status of the tourism port project, stated: this project is in the final stages of preparation and, based on the agreement made with the Minister of Roads and Urban Development, it has been decided that the remaining actions will be finished over the next two months. Referring to the process of carrying out the construction and infrastructure operations of this project, he added: the Ports and Maritime Organization, by mobilizing the facilities and executive forces, is seriously pursuing the completion of the basins, the pier and other parts of the port so that this plan reaches the operation stage according to the planning made.
Lahouti, emphasizing the tourism and economic capacities of this complex, stated: in my belief, this port enjoys the capacity to become one of the country's most important tourism ports, and its completion can provide a suitable ground for the development of tourism and attracting investors. The representative of the people of Langarud in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, also referring to the programs related to the special economic zone, noted: previously, the necessary actions to create a special economic zone had been done, but part of the work remained unfinished. Now we are trying, at the same time as completing the tourism port project, to also carry out the necessary follow-ups to bring the programs of the special economic zone to a conclusion.
He, in continuation, announced the amount of investment made in this project at the current rate as close to 2 thousand billion tomans and said: with the infrastructure provided, it is expected that the ground for the presence of investors and the participation of the private sector in developing the economic and tourism capacities of the region will be provided more than before. Lahouti, in the end, referring to the necessity of completing the infrastructure and accelerating the process of implementing the project, emphasized: the goal is that, by operating the tourism port and simultaneously following up the programs of the special economic zone, the existing capacities in the region will be turned into effective opportunities for economic and tourism development and employment.
