According to ILNA, Hossein-Ali Shahriari, in a mid-agenda speech at today's open session (Sunday, October 25) of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, referring to the security conditions of Sistan and Baluchestan province, said: This province is going through hard days, and in the past six months about 60 people have been martyred. The situation is such that even in Zahedan, the provincial capital, hostage-taking, armed robbery and extortion have reached such a level that with sunset, people are worried about leaving their homes.

The representative of the people of Zahedan in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, criticizing the security situation of the province, stated: In a province where hundreds of billions of tomans are spent annually, despite the claims of intelligence and security officials, good things do not happen in the field of security, and the borders, despite the world's advanced technologies including drones and artificial intelligence, are not controlled by the various methods, and perhaps the borders mean bread and water for some and they do not want them controlled; we are not opposed to official borders being open, but the Saravan border, through which the most traffic of the terrorist groups takes place, never seems to be completely closed.

Criticism of the security management situation in Sistan and Baluchestan province

Shahriari, referring to his remarks at the inauguration session of the governor of Sistan and Baluchestan two years ago, said: At that session, in the presence of the Minister of Interior, I raised some issues, and one person announced that he was in charge of the province's security; what security have you brought to this province, given that in these two years two women of the province, each of whom had several children, were martyred, and unfortunately, despite these incidents, the accountability and performance of the country's intelligence agencies in providing the province's security face criticism, and the governor refers us to another person on security issues.
The representative of the people of Zahedan in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, raising the question of why different answers are given by various officials about the province's security issues, said: Is the head of the provincial security council not the governor? Why in Sistan and Baluchestan are other individuals and bodies such as the Strategic Council, headquarters and other sections the decision-makers? Why is the assignment of responsibilities in this province not clarified?

The head of the Majlis Health and Treatment Commission, addressing the heads of the branches of power, continued: The heads of the branches who issue congratulatory and condolence messages on the occasion of the martyrdom of our loved ones — would it not be better for them to also think once about solving the province's security problems? We expect a serious decision to be taken in the Supreme National Security Council for the situation of Sistan and Baluchestan so that people no longer witness this volume of insecurity and the loss of their loved ones.

Shahriari, stating that the insecurities have caused the migration of a large number of the province's people, emphasized: We hope the country's security officials will find a solution for the province's security issues as soon as possible, and if you cannot establish the province's security, leave security to the people; I am sure the people can provide the province's security.

He, criticizing what he called divisiveness in the province, said: 'Divide and rule' — for more than 20 years this unpleasant method has continued in Sistan and Baluchestan province; if you do not fear the people and the officials, fear God, and be certain that you must also answer in the hereafter.

Criticism of the drinking water and health services situation

The representative of the people of Zahedan in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, continuing, referring to the problems in the water and health fields, said: We expect the Minister of Energy to at least act to provide healthy water for the people of the cities of Sistan and Baluchestan province, because the people of the province are deprived of basic health facilities and clean water and endure very hard summers, which is truly unbearable for the good people of this province.

Warning about the increase in medicine and treatment costs

Shahriari, continuing, criticizing the people's health situation and the increase in treatment costs, said: The health problems of the people in the country are very serious. We expected Dr. Pezeshkian, who for years headed a medical sciences university and was the deputy for health at the Ministry of Health and a minister, and with whom we served in the Majlis for 16 years, to improve the people's health conditions.

The head of the Majlis Health and Treatment Commission added: When the people's living situation does not change much, they expect at least their health situation to be better than in the past, but I can boldly say that the people's health situation has unfortunately become worse.

The representative of the people of Zahedan in the Islamic Consultative Assembly stated: Medicine and treatment costs have become backbreaking, and in many cases medicine is not easily found. People cannot afford medicine and treatment costs, and a solution must be found for this situation as soon as possible.

Shahriari, referring to the currency liberalization policies in the field of medicine and treatment, called for serious attention by officials to the effects of these policies on people's lives, and said: Should people have to endure these problems?

He, emphasizing the solidarity of the people of Sistan and Baluchestan with the system and the Revolution, continued: The people are present in the squares every night and stand by the system and the Revolution to the last drop of their blood, so why do the officials not think of solving their problems? Until when must we witness the continuation of these problems?

Unemployment and deprivation: among the serious problems of Sistan and Baluchestan

Shahriari, in another part of his speech, referring to the employment and livelihood situation of the province's people, said: Unemployment and poverty are rampant in Sistan and Baluchestan; there truly are people who cry and wail for 20 to 30 thousand tomans and ask for help from everyone.

He, criticizing the way the province's capacities are used, added: The country has facilities, and Sistan and Baluchestan is not a province lacking capacities and facilities, but unfortunately this province has become special for a particular few, and they do not allow the province's people to make good use of the existing facilities.

The representative of the people of Zahedan in the Islamic Consultative Assembly emphasized: Conditions must be provided so that the province's facilities are managed in favor of the people and their problems are resolved in a timely manner.

The need to replace inefficient managers and use capable forces

Shahriari, emphasizing the need for officials to pay immediate attention to the province's problems, said: We hope the officials will come to their senses as soon as possible and, before bigger events occur in the province, act to solve the problems and provide security for the people.

This Majlis representative, criticizing the continued activity of some managers in the province, demanded the use of capable, young and clean-handed forces, and added: Managers who have been in the province for years and become deeply entrenched must give their place to capable, young and clean-handed forces so that they serve the people and the problems of the people of Sistan and Baluchestan are resolved as soon as possible.
