According to a Mehr reporter, Iran's men's and women's national padel teams missed the opportunity to take part in the World Cup qualifying competition after Kuwaiti officials failed to issue visas.
The Padel World Cup qualifying competition begins on Monday, October 26, and the World Cup itself will be held in Qatar one week after the end of the qualifiers.
Given that Qatar and the UAE had already secured their World Cup berths, Iran's national teams had a good opportunity to compete with the other teams and strive for qualification — an opportunity that was lost with the non-issuance of the visas.
In this regard, the Tennis Federation of Iran, in a letter to Luigi Carraro, president of the International Padel Federation, has requested a special quota (wild card) for Iran's men's and women's national teams to take part directly in the 2026 World Cup in Qatar, and it remains to be seen whether the International Padel Federation will agree to this request.
Iran's national padel team's last appearance at an international event was the Nagoya Asian Games, where our country's representatives won a bronze medal in their first appearance at the competition.
