Young Journalists Club - Mohammad Reza Zafarghandi, the Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, at the 21st meeting of the country's Supreme Council of Health and Food Security, chaired by President Pezeshkian, described the goal of the ministry's plans and programs as 'health-oriented' prevention instead of 'treatment-oriented' and said: The cooperation and accompaniment of all bodies and ministries, and especially the governors in the country's provinces, is essential for the precise and successful implementation of the programs and approvals of the Supreme Council of Health, with the aim of providing and guaranteeing the health of the people and society.
The Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education stated: Our main goal is to be able, with the cooperation of all bodies, to offer the people in society the programs and training related to health, because we believe that the health of society can strengthen social capital.
At the 21st meeting of the country's Supreme Council of Health and Food Security, chaired by the President, 5 national strategic documents in the field of the health system and public hygiene were approved.
The National Document for the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases, the National Strategy Document for Improving Drinking Water Quality in the 5-year period 1405 to 1410, the National Health and Climate Change Strategy Document, the National Document on Early Childhood Development, and the Comprehensive Document on Disaster and Accident Risk Management in the Health System were approved by the members of the council.
It is worth noting that the 21st meeting of the country's Supreme Council of Health and Food Security was held on Sunday, October 25, 2026, chaired by Dr. Pezeshkian and attended by the members of the council, including the Ministers of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, Agricultural Jihad, Education, and Justice, the heads of the Environmental Protection Organization and the Standards Organization, and other members of the council.
