Young Journalists Club; Narges Imam-Jomeh - Following the spread of a wave of rumors in cyberspace regarding the status of school operations and claims about their evacuation or closure under the country's current sensitive conditions, officials of the Ministry of Education emphasized the continuation of the normal and in-person educational process.
In this regard, Ali Farhadi, spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, in an interview with the Young Journalists Club regarding the rumors raised about schools becoming non-in-person or being evacuated in certain regions of the country such as Tehran, said: "Except for Hormozgan province, which, due to its special conditions, held classes non-in-person for two weeks at the beginning of the academic year, education is ongoing in-person in all other regions of the country, and no other announcement has been issued in this regard."
Referring to the anticipation of alternative solutions for special conditions, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Education stated: "If for any reason, including severe cold weather or energy shortages, the continuation of in-person education is not feasible, we will utilize the capacity of the Shad network to ensure the continuity of the educational process."
Farhadi continued: "Planning has been done in such a way that if limitations arise for holding in-person classes, the possibility of using the non-in-person education platform is provided, and students can access their required education through the Shad network."
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Education clarified: "Since the Shad network operates on the infrastructure of the National Information Network, the disconnection of global internet alone will not prevent this network from operating, and provided that the infrastructure of the national network remains active, using Shad is possible."
