Allocation of 25 Thousand Doses of Imported Influenza Vaccine to the Pharmacies of Mashhad

According to KhabarOnline from Khorasan, Dr. Ali Asghar Esmaeilzadeh, in an interview, stating that 25 thousand doses of influenza vaccine have been allocated for distribution in the pharmacies of the area covered by Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, stated: The vaccine needed by the target groups, including people with immune-system deficiency, patients with underlying diseases and pregnant mothers covered by the provincial health center, has been supplied and delivered to the relevant centers so that it is placed free of charge at the disposal of eligible people.

He said: The supply of the influenza vaccine in pharmacies is carried out with a doctor's prescription, and people with immune-system deficiency, those with underlying diseases, pregnant mothers, children over three years of age and cardiovascular patients are in the priority for receiving the vaccine.

The director of drug affairs and controlled substances of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, referring to the limitation of vaccine imports in the current year, added: The amount of influenza vaccine imports this year has reached about 30 to 40 percent of the amount of last year's imports; therefore, follow-ups to secure the next shipment are under way.

Esmaeilzadeh continued: As soon as the new shipment arrives, the necessary coordination with the distribution companies will be carried out for planning and distributing the vaccine in the pharmacies.

He finally, stating that the distributed vaccines were imported from the countries of China and France, noted: The price of these vaccines in pharmacies is between one million and 700 thousand and one million and 800 thousand tomans.
