Hamid Bourd, the acting oil minister, speaking during his trip to Russia and referring to the summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, said: Iran is one of the founders of this body and negotiates with members on production and energy cooperation, especially gas.
He added: The summit is held at the level of heads of state, and the President, while announcing Iran's positions on America's crimes and the bombing of the country's infrastructure, will emphasize expanding cooperation with countries active in this field.
On Iran-Russia gas cooperation, Bourd stated: In the meeting of the two countries' presidents in Turkmenistan, a general agreement was reached on gas swap and its technical implementation stages are being pursued; the agreement is almost finalized. If the pipeline being pursued via the Republic of Azerbaijan is completed, the gas swap will begin soon.
He also reported oil cooperation between the two countries, saying: Russia is developing four major oil fields in Iran and we have good contracts in this area. The implementation of the projects is progressing favorably, and at the summit we will discuss them if needed. Developing Iran-Russia economic cooperation, especially in oil and gas, continues to be pursued.
