40 Percent of Country's Prisoners Connected to Drug-Related Offenses

Tehran - IRNA - Pointing to the significant share of drug-related offenses in the country's prison population, the President's representative and Secretary-General of the Drug Control Headquarters said: According to reviewed statistics, about 40 percent of the country's prisoners are directly or indirectly connected to drug-related offenses; an issue that demonstrates the necessity of paying more attention to prevention and identifying effective solutions to reduce the entry of individuals into the cycle of crime.
