According to ILNA, after the 2-0 defeat of Shams Azar Qazvin against Esteghlal Khuzestan, Vahid Rezaei appeared at the press conference and said about the course of the match: His team had started the game well and had goal-scoring opportunities in the first half but could not use its chances, while Esteghlal Khuzestan had taken advantage of its opportunities.

The head coach of Shams Azar, referring to an incident that in his belief could have led to the expulsion of the opposing goalkeeper, stated: “A serious question arises for me; when VAR exists in the stadium, how is it possible that such an incident is reviewed, but the decision that is expected is not taken?”

Rezaei, referring to the collision of the Esteghlal Khuzestan goalkeeper with the Shams Azar striker in a situation he considered a clear goal-scoring opportunity, emphasized that this incident required more careful review. He believed that if the foul and the legal conditions for expulsion were established, a decision proportionate to the regulations should have been taken.

He also said about the incident leading to Esteghlal Khuzestan's goal: In his belief, before the host's goal-scoring attack took shape, a foul had been committed on a Shams Azar player, but the referee ordered play to continue. Rezaei also considered this incident, alongside the contested collision with his team's striker, among the cases that must be seriously reviewed.

In summarizing his remarks, the head coach of Shams Azar evaluated his players' performance as acceptable and once again considered the main difference between the two teams to be in exploiting goal-scoring opportunities.

In the end, Rezaei, while congratulating Esteghlal Khuzestan on the victory, expressed hope that his team would return to the competitions after the break with greater readiness and compensate for past results.
