According to Varzesh 3 and citing Fars News Agency, senior congressional member Chris Van Hollen reacted to a New York Times report regarding preparations by Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu to repeat aggressions against Iran.
Van Hollen warned on the X network (formerly Twitter): "Trump's illegal war with Iran is turning into our next forever war."
He wrote: "Eight months have passed and Trump and Republicans are deceiving themselves with the thought that the next strike or another bombing will finally bring victory."
His message was published in response to the New York Times report. Citing informed US officials, the newspaper wrote that the US and Israel have drawn up detailed plans for renewed strikes against Iran following the November 3 midterm elections (Aban 12).
According to the New York Times, this potential operation could include an intensive three-day campaign targeting Iran's nuclear facilities, missile and drone arsenals, and likely energy infrastructure.
Rejecting new aggression against Iran, the Democratic senator from Maryland stated: "From Vietnam to Iraq, we know how this war ends. This war must end right now."
