According to the IRIB News Agency, in line with bringing transparency to the train ticket market and protecting passengers' rights, the Railway's Tariff and Ticket Supervision Commission dealt decisively with the offending centres.
Mr. Tabatabaei, director general of planning and supervision of passenger services of the Railway, stated in this regard: The activities of 25 authorised train ticket sales centres, including tourism and travel service offices, have been suspended for using unauthorised software tools and disrupting the fair allocation of tickets.
He added: These centres were identified through smart monitoring of the sales systems and the detection of suspicious transaction patterns. The use of automated purchasing bots, disruption of the fair allocation process, and non-compliance with the issued instructions were among the proven violations of these offices.
Real-time monitoring of ticket sales systems
The director general of planning and supervision of passenger services of the Railway, stressing that the sales systems are monitored in real time, stated: The use of automated purchasing bots or any method that leads to monopoly, takes ticket capacity out of the public's reach and violates passengers' rights is the railway's red line.
Tabatabaei noted in conclusion: The railway's supervisory body will, without any leniency, deal with any violation in the ticket distribution and sales chain in accordance with legal rules and regulations.
