Young Journalists Club - A joint webinar meeting was held between the Iran Plant Protection Organization and the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, focusing on reviewing the status of pesticide residues and pests associated with export shipments between the two countries, as well as ways to strengthen the exchange of information and documentation.
In this online meeting, attended by senior officials and experts from both sides, the latest status of exported plant shipments between Iran and Russia was discussed and reviewed.
Experts from the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance expressed satisfaction in this meeting with the significant decrease in non-compliant export shipments compared to last year, emphasizing the need to upgrade the level of bilateral cooperation, increase precision, intensify supervision over export shipments between the two countries, and remove health and quarantine barriers.
It was also decided that a detailed review of issues related to pesticide residues and the management of pests accompanying shipments be placed on the agenda.
Furthermore, in line with strengthening technical and specialized interactions, necessary planning was made to hold joint training courses, conduct reciprocal bilateral visits, and optimize official channels for exchanging information and documentation required by both countries.
These agreements were assessed as an important step toward facilitating agricultural trade and adherence to mutual health protocols.
