According to "Varzesh3", Shams Azar's loss against Esteghlal Khuzestan in the tenth week of the Premier League came about while in the first half of this match a controversial scene caused the Qazvin team's protest. In this scene, Mohammad Mehdi Mansouri was stopped after a collision with Amin Rezaei, the Esteghlal Khuzestan goalkeeper, and the referee punished Rezaei with only a yellow card, which at that very moment caused a strong protest from the members of the visiting team.

Now the Shams Azar club media wrote in a statement about this:

"Shams Azar Qazvin Club protests the non-sending-off of the opposing goalkeeper in the collision scene with this team's forward, and asks the Referees Committee of the Football Federation to officially announce the technical and legal basis of the decision taken.

The images of this scene show the goalkeeper's exit from the penalty area and his entry into the collision with the Shams Azar forward, with a forward leap and a raised knee. The club's assessment is that the manner of entry and the intensity of the collision endangered the player's safety and fell under the title of 'serious foul play' in FIFA's Law 12 and warranted a direct sending-off.

The basis of the club's protest, in addition to the stopping of the forward or the possible loss of a goal-scoring opportunity, will be the rule on endangering the opponent's safety during the contest for the ball, which is independently one of the cases for a sending-off. Therefore, the presence of a covering defender or the goalkeeper's attempt to play the ball will not, by itself, answer this protest."

The statement continues:

"We expect the Referees Committee, by examining all available angles and the reports of the refereeing factors, to specify on the basis of what criteria this collision was judged to be outside the cases of serious foul play. The answer to this question must address the goalkeeper's manner of entry, the intensity and location of the contact, and the extent of the danger posed to the forward.

Shams Azar Club, while respecting the position of the referees, considers the documented pursuit of this scene to be its right and demands the announcement of the result of the review and, if an error is established, a clear explanation about it and appropriate action. Preserving players' safety and the uniform enforcement of the laws is the club's specific demand in this protest.

This scene occurred while the match was in the late stages of the first half and tied goalless between the two teams, and the failure to make the correct decision was influential in the final result of the match."
