The deputy for scholarships and student affairs abroad at the Student Affairs Organization said: The results of the latest evaluation and ranking of foreign universities were announced with a new approach and with the specialized cooperation of the Institute for Citation and Monitoring of Science and Technology of the Islamic World (ISC).
According to IRIB News Agency , Abbas Ghanbari Baghestan, pointing to the distinctive feature of this year's evaluations, said: The very important and strategic point this year is that the process of evaluating and updating the list of foreign universities has been carried out relying on the valuable national and regional capacities, namely the Institute for Citation and Monitoring of Science and Technology of the Islamic World (ISC).
He added: Based on this year's resolution of the Council for the Evaluation of Academic Credentials, in addition to using the results of four reputable world ranking systems, including QS, Shanghai, Leiden and Times, we were able to place the main focus on the results of the evaluations of the Islamic World Citation Database (ISC), and through this implement a localized, precise and multidimensional model for ranking universities, so that foreign universities are classified with more precise criteria in line with the requirements of today's world of science.
The deputy for scholarships and student affairs abroad at the Student Affairs Organization said: This year, with a fully specialized outlook and with the ISC citation database at the center, the list of universities underwent a serious refinement, and universities were classified into three levels, "A", "B" and "C", based on their scientific, research, educational and technological standing.
Ghanbari Baghestan, about the impact of these changes on the academic future of applicants for studying abroad, added: Our outlook at the Student Affairs Organization is the optimal guidance of elites and students toward truly effective scientific centers; with this transparent ranking, dear applicants and their respected families can choose their field of study with open eyes and based on documented information.
He said: In this system, strong and growing universities in emerging fields and new technologies have also been given more visibility, and all students, researchers and respected advisors are requested, before taking any action to leave the country, to carefully study the latest approved list, which is published today through the official portal of the Student Affairs Organization; alongside its supportive mission, the Student Affairs Organization is determined to preserve the scientific standards of the country's higher education.
