According to "Varzesh3", the final and classification bouts of the first day of the World Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships began this afternoon in the four weight categories of 55, 60, 77 and 82 kilograms in the city of Astana, Kazakhstan.
In the 55 kg category, yesterday Payam Ahmadi, the young prodigy of Iranian Greco-Roman wrestling, after a bye in the first round, in the next round defeated Nouri of the United States by a result of 10-1 and advanced to the quarter-finals. Ahmadi in this round beat Lalit of India by a result of 9-0 and reached the semi-finals. In this round, he defeated Iskhar Kurbayev of Kazakhstan by a result of 7-1 and advanced to the final bout.

But in the final, Payam Ahmadi faced world champion Eldaniz Azizli of Azerbaijan; the wrestler whom last year Ahmadi, in his first experience against him, had managed to defeat.
This time, however, while Ahmadi intended to execute a technique on Azizli, he was countered and ultimately lost 3-1, so that, just like last year, he reached the silver medal.
