According to "Varzesh3", the match between Al-Nassr and Al-Wasl, which was due to be held on Monday, October 26 at King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh, has been postponed to another time. The AFC announced that the new date and time of this match will be announced after the necessary coordination has been made.

Al-Wasl club also confirmed the postponement of the match minutes after the AFC statement was published, writing: "The match between Al-Wasl and Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr in the AFC Champions League Elite , which was due to be held tomorrow, Monday, October 26, has been postponed. The new date and time of the match will be announced in due course."

This decision was taken after Al-Wasl informed the AFC that it was unable to travel to Riyadh. Flights between the UAE and Saudi Arabia in recent days, following the attacks carried out on Saudi airports and the disruption to airline schedules, have faced widespread cancellations and changes. However, the AFC made no mention of the reason for the postponement in its official statement.

Before the final decision was announced, there had been discussions about applying Article 67 of the AFC Champions League Elite regulations. Under this article, the Competitions Committee had to determine whether Al-Wasl's failure to reach Riyadh constituted force majeure, or whether the club would face disciplinary punishment for absence from the match. The official postponement of the game means the scenario of a disciplinary defeat for Al-Wasl has been set aside and the match will be held on a new date.

This postponement also pushed the possible clash between Mehdi Taremi and Cristiano Ronaldo to another time. The Iranian national-team striker, since joining Al-Wasl, has become one of the team's key players and has scored four goals in the UAE's domestic competitions.

Al-Wasl lost their first two matches in the AFC Champions League Elite against Al-Qadsiah and Al-Ahli of Saudi Arabia and have not yet gained a point. Al-Nassr, after a heavy defeat against Al-Ain, beat Neftchi Fergana 3–1 and sit eighth in the West region table with three points. Now both teams must wait for the AFC to announce the new date of this match.
