Leila Najafi, head of the Nahal music group, announced the performance of nostalgic pieces in a women-only show and in this regard told a Mehr reporter: This performance proceeds in collaboration with movement groups and the presence of a 20-member daf ensemble, and we try, by performing music, to reduce our audience's everyday pressures for a few hours and bring a smile to their lips.
Najafi added: This year is the eleventh year of activity of the Nahal music group, which is composed of women instrumentalists and performs on stage an average of three times a year. Also, over the past few years we have been invited to music festivals.
Regarding the pieces of the upcoming concert, she explained: The bulk of the pieces in this performance are covers of nostalgic works with which many audience members have memories.
Referring to the experience of composing dedicated pieces for this group, the head of the Nahal music group said: Last year I composed five pieces for the Nahal music group, which were performed.
On collaborating with movement groups in this concert, Najafi stated: We always collaborate with a movement group, and this time the Form group is with us as well. Five movement and dramatic sections have been designed and directed for this performance, which are performed as playback with the music played. Also, in 2 pieces, the members of this group perform their dramatic movements simultaneously with the live music performance by the Nahal group, one of which is based on an Iranian folk piece.
Pointing to another part of the concert program and the lineup of the group's musicians, she added: For the first time, we have invited a daf ensemble to be present in this performance. This 20-member group will perform daf playing in 2 pieces. Nine musicians are present in this performance, and Niusha Baraimani, kamancheh player, backing vocalist and conductor, is in charge of leading the orchestra.
Referring to the start of ticket sales for the concert, Najafi said: This concert will be performed on Friday, October 30, for women at Vahdat Hall, and audiences can obtain tickets for this performance through the relevant websites.
In closing, emphasizing the role of art and music in difficult social conditions, she stated: I always say that art and the artist have a mission, and that is to provide nourishment for people's souls. We are all going through hard times these days, and I hope that by performing music, even for a few hours, we can reduce the pressures that are on people and bring a smile to their lips. Especially in the field of women's music, which has been accompanied by many ups and downs, we must try to keep this art alive.
