According to Varzesh 3 and Tasnim, Floyd Mayweather, the 49-year-old world boxing legend, is once again making headlines with the possibility of a return to professional boxing. According to published reports, Netflix is seeking an agreement to hold two bouts featuring the American boxer against Manny Pacquiao and Ryan Garcia in 2027 and 2028; a deal which, if finalized, would put Mayweather's undefeated record at risk.

According to the tentative schedule, Mayweather will first face Pacquiao again in May 2027 and then fight Ryan Garcia in September of the same year or early 2028. However, no official agreement has yet been announced by Netflix and the proposed timeline is not definitive.

The important point is that both fights may be held professionally, rather than as exhibitions; an issue that puts Mayweather's record of 50 wins and no losses under threat. He had his last professional fight in August 2017 against Conor McGregor, winning by a technical knockout in the tenth round. Mayweather has since participated in several exhibition bouts, including matchups against Logan Paul, Deji, and John Gotti III.

Mayweather was previously scheduled to face Pacquiao again in September 2026, but the match was postponed and its status remains unclear. Pacquiao's team had cited legal issues, scheduling conflicts, and financial matters related to Mayweather's camp as the reasons for the match not taking place.

On the other hand, Ryan Garcia, the 28-year-old American boxer and current WBC world super lightweight champion, has claimed on social media that he has reached an agreement for a professional fight with Mayweather. Garcia knocked out British boxer Conor Benn in less than two rounds last month.

Should this fight take place, Mayweather will have the opportunity to contend for a world championship title at an age higher than the current record holder in this arena. Of course, his return to professional competition requires obtaining the necessary licenses, and the Nevada State Athletic Commission must also review his conditions for fighting in Las Vegas.

Despite speculations about these two matches, as of the publication of this report, no official Netflix contract has been announced and Mayweather's potential return remains merely a proposal.
