According to the news agency KhabarOnline; Amirhossein Mahmoudi, the 20-year-old Persepolis winger, performed well in the Reds' line-up last season and put his name forward as one of the Premier League prodigies. He, who was also in the national team's initial list for the 2026 World Cup and had even travelled to Mexico and the United States, has a different situation these days.
Mahmoudi, who had imagined that this season, by shining in the Persepolis line-up, he would go to the Asian Cup, has not experienced good conditions since Mehdi Tartar's arrival on the Reds' bench. This year he has entered the pitch in only 4 Persepolis games as a substitute and has been present on the pitch for a total of only 31 minutes. Last season's Persepolis prodigy, in yesterday's game against Foolad too, despite his team's need for a goal, did not get the chance to play and, among his team's attacking options, is considered almost the last option.
Given Mahmoudi's recent spells on the bench, it is unlikely that this player will have a place in the national team's next list, and he may ultimately also miss taking part in the Asian Cup.
