According to Varzesh 3, Esteghlal basketball team, which experienced an undefeated half-season in its debut year in Iranian basketball competitions, suffered a defeat very early in the new season.

Just like last year, Esteghlal has a tough fixture list; after being guests of Palayesh Naft in Abadan, they will face Kalleh Mazandaran in the second week, who showed in their first game that they are a well-prepared team.
