According to "Varzesh3", Eighteen hours of work a day at the training center, the first person to arrive in the morning and the last to leave at night, and children whom on many days he practically does not see. Did this extreme work ethic of Vincent Kompany lead to his collapse?
On Friday, the head coach of Bayern Munich fainted on Säbner Straße and was taken to hospital. His condition is stable, and the exact cause will be determined by further examinations.
The 41-year-old coach had probably not taken his body's serious warnings seriously. Before the 6-1 win against Leipzig, the head coach had also been forced to lie down in the coaches' room. The training session and the press conference after that? They were cancelled. But Kompany carried on with his work.

Despite the forced rest, on Wednesday he was again present on the touchline during the 2-2 draw against Arsenal. The Belgian coach himself confessed: «As a coach, you always want to do everything. Last week I caught a relatively severe viral illness and, naturally, I did not listen to my own body.»
Two days after the match against Arsenal, the collapse arrived. The man who demands the highest performance from his players apparently expects more than anyone from himself.
His father, Pierre, explained where this uncompromising attitude comes from. In April 2025, he gave Bild an insight into Kompany's everyday life: «He was disciplined during his playing days too, but now, as a coach, he is stricter. He has a daily schedule that tolerates almost no rest. He is at the training center early in the morning and leaves it at night as the last person. He works 18 hours on most days and sees his children very little on ordinary days.»
This unyielding attitude has deep family roots. Jocelyn, Vincent's mother, passed away in 2007, but her influence on her children remains. Pierre stated in conversation with Bild: «Their late mother was very important. From the time the children were able to speak, she frankly told them: to succeed, you must work much harder than others!»
The parents wanted to deliberately prepare their children to confront resistance. As a family of color in Belgium, they knew that a difficult path lay ahead. His father said: «We taught our children: do not react with anger; respond with performance.»
