According to "Varzesh3", the referee from Alicante approaches El Clásico with complete calm and away from media hype. He explained that in order to filter out external criticism and focus purely on the match, he relies on those around him. He also revealed that in recent years they have modernized the way they prepare, and before entering the pitch they play music in the dressing room. Munuera pointed to a special song with which they show gratitude for the constant support of their families.

He said about being selected to officiate El Clásico: "Whenever someone is selected to officiate such matches, they appreciate the trust of the referees' committee. We too, as always, do our job with the same sense of responsibility, but we all know that this match attracts a great deal of media attention at the global level. Even so, we treat it completely naturally, just like the teams. During the week we focus on the European competitions, and then it is the turn of the weekend matches."

He said about staying away from hype and criticism: "In general, throughout an entire season I try to keep myself away from the hype and to be selective in reading, listening and following content. The people around me know that they must filter many of the issues and remarks before they reach me."

He added about the pre-match preparation ritual: "We too have modernized ourselves! We play music at all matches, and right before leaving the dressing room we re-emphasize the points we talked about in the morning's technical meeting. Then we play a song that is very special to us; a song that has particular importance because of everything our families have done for us."
