In the past two years, the artificial intelligence map has been drafted at the University of Medical Sciences.

Kordi emphasized: The guidelines for the use of artificial intelligence in scientific research and studies have been drafted.

He emphasized: 70 billion tomans has been allocated for projects related to artificial intelligence, and another 70 billion tomans is to be set aside.

Continuing the ceremony, Mohammad Taghi Talebian, the president of Sina Hospital, said: Sina Hospital is one of the oldest medical centers in the country, with a history of 156 years.

According to him, the first kidney transplant was performed at Sina Hospital, and Sina Hospital, with 156 years of history of serving patients, is known as the country's oldest hospital and Iran's first modern hospital. Many specialized and subspecialized medical services were provided for the first time at this center.

He continued: The establishment of the first state emergency department, the first classic laboratory, the initial pathology and urology services, and the performance of the first kidney transplant from a brain-dead person are among the honors of this hospital. Also, the first abdominal aortic repair in the field of vascular surgery was carried out at this center.

Referring to the unveiling of the first commemorative stamp of artificial intelligence in the health sector, Talebian added: The topic of artificial intelligence in hospitals and medical centers is an important issue.

The Future of the World, and Especially of the Health and Medicine Sector, Is Affected by Artificial Intelligence

Continuing the ceremony, Sheikhi, the deputy of the Technology and Information Research Institute, said: The future of the world, and especially of the health and medicine sector, is affected by artificial intelligence; artificial intelligence education is considered one of the important topics in the world.

According to him, the anonymization of data in the medical field is an important topic, and good infrastructures will be provided at the Technology and Information Research Institute.

Mohammad Hossein Sheikhi, the president of the Communications and Information Technology Research Institute, also said at this ceremony, referring to the speed of technological developments: Artificial intelligence is advancing at great speed, and we practically have no choice but to move along this path; but alongside using its capacities, we must also consider our national interests.

Referring to the extensive investment of neighboring countries in the field of artificial intelligence, he added: These investments indicate the growing importance of this technology. Artificial intelligence can be helpful in almost all fields, and one of its most important capacities is the use of vast volumes of data for more precise decision-making.

Stating that the medical field enjoys a high capacity for benefiting from artificial intelligence, Sheikhi explained: Medical images, laboratory results and other health data are valuable resources which, with the correct training of artificial intelligence systems, can be used as an auxiliary arm for physicians; of course, this does not mean one hundred percent reliance on technology.

The president of the Communications and Information Technology Research Institute named personalized medicine as one of the important fields of application of artificial intelligence and said: Today, this technology is used to develop diagnostic and therapeutic methods suited to the conditions of each patient.

He continued: The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued permits for about 1,600 products in which artificial intelligence plays a role. This statistic shows the speed of expansion of this technology's application in the health sector.

Protecting Patients' Personal Information Must Be among the Fundamental Principles of Developing Artificial Intelligence in the Health System

Sheikhi at the same time emphasized the necessity of protecting health data and said: Sensitive data and patients' information must not be placed, without regulation, at the disposal of systems outside the country. The anonymization of data and the protection of patients' personal information must be among the fundamental principles of developing artificial intelligence in the health system.

Welcoming the start of this movement at Sina Hospital, he stated: We are glad that such an event is being held at the country's oldest hospital. The Communications and Information Technology Research Institute is ready to cooperate along the path of developing national artificial intelligence activities in the health sector.

Patients' Confidential Information Must Not Be Recorded in Artificial Intelligence Systems

Continuing the ceremony, Shahin Akhoundzadeh, the Deputy Minister of Health for Technology, said: The volume of investment in the field of artificial intelligence in Saudi Arabia is higher than in Iran, and more investment must be made in the country in this field.

According to him, students in the field of artificial intelligence are ahead of the professors.

Akhoundzadeh emphasized: Experts believe that patients' confidential information must not be recorded in artificial intelligence systems.

He added: Artificial intelligence is a capable research collaborator, and artificial intelligence is used to strengthen scientific thinking.
