According to Varzesh3, Michael Carrick after the heavy 3-0 defeat of Manchester United against Bournemouth, spoke at the press conference about the team's critical situation, the negative cycle of results and the possibility of his dismissal; the United manager stressed that he accepts responsibility for the current situation, but now is not a good time to explain all the problems.
On why United are caught in a negative cycle, Carrick said: "Consistency — reaching a level of consistency, then moving forward and trying to demand more — is always a challenge. You have to keep pushing forward and carry on.
Consistency really is everything. If you are not consistent in everything you do, the situation becomes a challenge. Of course, one can look at a whole set of issues, but I do not think now, as I sit here, is a good time for me to go through all of them."
If I could do something, I would do it
The United manager went on to stress that if there had been a factor under his control, he has done everything he could to prevent this situation from recurring.

"If I could do something about it and there was something genuinely under my control, I would do everything I could so that we would not be in this position. Of course, this season I am in this situation and, for various reasons, whatever they may be, we have not been able to prevent reaching this point."
We finished third last season, but we had not solved the problem
Carrick also pointed to United's success last season and finishing third, saying that this result, valuable as it was, did not mean the team's problems had been solved.
"There are many questions you have to find answers to. But finishing third last season, given the circumstances we had, was a very good achievement; that we reached that position and the number of results we got.
We were aware of this and knew what situation this result put us in and what the next step would be; what things we had to do, how we had to improve, and what state we were in at that stage as a team and a group.
So I definitely knew we had not finished the job and that there was a lot of work left to do. But that does not mean things had to unfold this way."
I do not expect to be sacked, but I do not predict anything either
When Carrick was asked whether he expects to be dismissed from his post tonight, he gave no clear answer and stressed that he is carrying on with his job for now.

"I completely understand the situation. Honestly, I do not expect anything in particular. I carry on with my work as always, and I like it here.
I always do what I feel is best for the club, whatever decision is to be made about any matter.
So that is how it is. Honestly, I have no expectations in either direction."
The responsibility is mine
In response to a question about responsibility for the recent defeats, Carrick accepted responsibility for the situation without trying to escape the pressure.
"I accept responsibility. I have said it. I take responsibility.
Whatever happens in terms of results — whether we win, lose or draw — whatever happens to the whole club, I am in this position because I respect the position I hold, and its responsibility is mine.
What else can I really say now?"
The players' reaction to the fans' protest whistles
In another part of his remarks, the United manager, speaking about the players' reaction to the team being booed after the final whistle, said the atmosphere in the dressing room was dominated more than anything by the players' sadness and frustration.

"No, honestly, after the game we did not talk much about the booing. There are a lot of emotions in the dressing room right now. There is a lot of frustration.
Many of the lads are really upset and frustrated by this situation. It is not that they do not care or that they want to be in such a position. This is the situation we all find ourselves in.
I have not yet spoken to all of them individually, but with the players I have spoken to, I can see this situation has affected them a lot. As was also clear in the team's performance — how much the game did not go our way and we could not turn things in our favor.
After an ending like that, there is really not much that can be done. I think because of what happened at the end of the game, the atmosphere in the stadium and the prevailing conditions, we first need some time to digest all of it and see what it means for us."
