According to Mehr, quoting the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, this morning, Sunday, October 25, at the problem-oriented Artificial Intelligence in Health event at Sina Hospital, the dedicated stamp of this event was unveiled in the presence of Mohammad Hossein Sheikhi, head of the Information and Communications Technology Research Institute, representing the Ministry of Communications, Shahin Akhoundzadeh, Deputy of Technology of the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, and a group of officials and faculty members.

Artificial intelligence; an effective tool for analyzing medical data

At this event, Mohammad Hossein Sheikhi, referring to the acceleration of countries' investment in the field of artificial intelligence, stated: The heavy investments of tens of billions of dollars in the countries of the region show that the future of the development and progress of societies is strongly dependent on this technology.

He added: In fields that deal with a huge volume of data, artificial intelligence can become an effective tool for analysis and decision-making. This technology, especially in the field of medicine, including the analysis of medical images and laboratory results, plays the role of a powerful auxiliary arm, to the extent that the US Food and Drug Administration has so far issued permits for thousands of AI-based products.

Safeguarding health data and developing personalized medicine

The head of the ICT Research Institute, emphasizing the need to avoid complete reliance on artificial intelligence in medical processes, stated: Using this technology is an undeniable necessity for achieving personalized medicine; however, protecting health data and preventing it from leaving the country must receive serious attention.

Sheikhi considered the precise implementation of the data anonymization process one of the important requirements on this path and stressed the need to use the capacities of artificial intelligence within the framework of safeguarding sensitive health data.

The Research Institute's readiness to cooperate with the medical community

Referring to the start of this movement at Sina Hospital, one of the oldest hospitals in the country, he said: The ICT Research Institute and its Artificial Intelligence Center are ready, using the specialized infrastructure and existing capacities, to stand alongside the medical community and the country's elites in the fields of problem definition, data anonymization, and support for national plans.

In closing, the head of the ICT Research Institute, announcing the readiness of the institute's Artificial Intelligence Center for cooperation in fields such as medicine, agriculture, oil and energy, expressed hope that the movement begun at Sina Hospital would become a national current and that its practical and applied results would be used to improve the health of patients and the people.
