According to Varzesh 3, despite the publication of images showing Vahid Amiri attending Persepolis training sessions in the summer, the transfer was not finalized, and we once again witnessed the return of this experienced star to the Foolad locker room. Now, these two teams face each other this evening, and there is a high probability of Vahid Amiri appearing on the pitch for at least a few minutes of this match. However, this player holds a brilliant record against Persepolis and has never suffered a defeat against this team.
For the first time, back in 2014, Vahid Amiri played against Persepolis wearing the jersey of Naft Tehran. In that match, guided by Yahya Golmohammadi and with a sole goal by Ali Ghorbani, they triumphed over Ali Daei's team, making Vahid Amiri's debut experience against Persepolis delightful and sweet. The return leg ended in a scoreless draw, and the following season yielded one draw and one victory for this high-quality player against Persepolis.
However, Vahid Amiri's finest moment against Persepolis occurred in May 2015 while playing for Alireza Mansourian's team. The first leg had ended in a 1-1 draw, and in the return leg, Persepolis had no choice but to defeat Naft Tehran to secure the championship. Yet Ali Mansour's team, featuring Alireza Beiranvand, Seyed Jalal Hosseini, Vahid Amiri, and several other stars, put on a brilliant display at Azadi Stadium in front of crowds of Persepolis fans and won by two goals.
In the 83rd minute, amid a flurry of Persepolis attacks, Vahid Amiri found himself in a one-on-one situation and scored Naft's first goal. In stoppage time, Mojtaba Haghdoost was crowned the scorer of their second team goal, and Ali Mansour's team emerged victorious in this major and prestigious match. Ultimately, in Branko's first season, Persepolis lost the chance to win the championship title due to the defeat in that very match, and shortly afterwards, Vahid Amiri joined Persepolis.
Except for a brief stint playing in Turkish football, this player competed in the Persepolis shirt for about a decade and achieved numerous honors with the club. However, the memory of scoring with the Naft Tehran shirt against Persepolis was never erased from the fans' minds, and in fact, Vahid Amiri deprived his beloved team of a championship record in the Iran Pro League.
Last season, during the first-leg match between Foolad and Persepolis, Vahid Amiri once again played against the red-clad side, and that fixture ended in a 1-1 draw. Subsequently, Vahid Amiri missed the remainder of the season due to a severe injury, and now he is once again set to face Persepolis. With a brilliant record of seven matches, three wins, four draws, and zero defeats, along with one goal and one assist, Vahid Amiri could be Hamid Motahari's secret weapon and his winning card in today's sensitive clash.
